Nigeria to host top US commander

The U.S Embassy in Nigeria's capital Abuja, has issued a staement  indicating that General Waldhauser one of US top commander will be visiting Nigeria. He will further deliver a speech at the National Defense College speaking about how AFRICOM develops strategy and his advice for future military leaders. He will also hold a press briefing after the delivery of his speech.

93 years old Robert Mugabe to run for presidency again

Zimbabwe's 93 years old President Robert Mugabe  has  indicated his voiced his interest to run for Presidency in the 2018 election.  In an interview with state television ZBC-TV to mark his 93rd birthday, Mr. Mugabe praised Trump, saying that he agrees with Trump's isolationist position, he went ahead to advise the world to "give him time."

Flooding hits most parts of Gauteng

So its been raining for two days stretch in most parts of South Africa, and the floods are here again especially in Gauteng. Although emergency services in Gauteng led by their spokesperson has reported that its not too severe, yet they are on high alert.

The not too severe flooding has however led to difficult driving conditions in some areas. Sections of the parking area at the Gautrain in Sandton has been flooded but a spokesperson says the flooding is not too severe and the station has not been affected.

Flooding has also been experienced at some taxi ranks in Cosmo City

Be Prepared - Supermoon to apper on Moday night 14th November, 2016

If you are ready to witness a one in a lifetime spectacle, then be prepared to view the moon on Monday night, a super moon will appear on Monday, November 14. It will appear up to 30% brighter and 14% bigger than usual. This is the closest the moon has been to us since 1948 – a phenomenon known as a perigee. It will look huge and pretty in several part of the world!

If you miss it , then you may have a long wait till 2034 to see another one. The last one was experienced about 70 years ago. Astronomers say the moon will be just 221,525 miles away from the Earth on November 14.

US Presidential Election Update: As Donald Trump arrives to vote, crowd boos

America has had one of the most dramatic presidential race. The poisonous presidential race that feels like it has lasted for eternity, the polls have finally opened! 

And although some omens point to an upcoming Donald Trump presidency it wasn’t the best start to election day for the Republican. The obligatory footage of the candidates outside their polling stations featured Trump casting his vote at a school near his home in New York City.

But the public appearance had a very different atmosphere to Trump’s rambunctious rallies – and may even have shaken the businessman’s steadfast confidence in himself. He climbed out of an SUV to a negative reception, with a chorus of boos and jeers filling the air. 

There were some cheers for the divisive billionaire, but they were largely drowned out by protesters who turned out to air vitriol towards Trump. It’s hardly a surprise, as even though New York is Trump’s home state, Hillary Clinton is expected to win there comfortably.

Nigerian Judges facing corruption investigation probe asked to step down

The events that has been rocking the Nigerian Judicial community has taken a different turn. As the corruption investigations proceed, Nigeria’s National Judicial Council watchdog has asked a group of judges facing corruption investigations to step down pending resolution of their cases.

At least seven judges were arrested last month by the Department of State Service (DSS) accused of taking bribes, triggering an outcry from the bar association and rights groups who described the raids as unprecedented. In all 15 judges are under investigation.
